Cedar in September is an adult retreat that focuses on respite and renewal. This time has been shaped to offer rest in the midst of God’s creation and opportunities for sharpening through fellowship with His people.
Sessions, led by gifted speakers, are complimented by space to reflect, discuss, and play. Take time to be still, worship through hymns, and wander the trails or waters.
So, come and celebrate the autumn season with friends, enjoying Lake Huron’s colorful, picturesque, and tranquil northern shores.
Following graduation from Seminary, David pastored a church in Pennsylvania. In 1976, answering a call to missionary service, he and his wife, Carolyn and their two children moved to Alaska. Teaching at the Arctic Native Bible School, David trained potential Native American pastors. The mission moved the Hopkins to the Portland, OR area where he organized and pastored a Native church. In 1996 David and Carolyn were invited to join the CHIEF staff during which time he traveled and taught throughout the United States and Canada. Prior to retirement in 2021 he served as associate pastor at Evergreen Presbyterian Church (PCA). David and Carolyn have been married 56 years, have three grown children, eight grandchildren and one great-grand child.
